SUPERVISION BACKGROUNDClinical Supervision for Social Work, 6 hour training 3/11/06
Supervision for Licensure, 30 hour training April & May 2006

SUPERVISION APPROACHMy supervision approach is based on developmental models of supervision with individualized attention to case conceptualization. Agency supervision is by nature a combination of administrative and clinical supervision. My primary goal will be to establish a working alliance, with the goal of supporting development of your self-awareness as a professional. Attention will be paid to diagnostic evaluation, treatment planning, ongoing case management, emergency intervention, record keeping and termination.

THEORETICAL ORIENTATIONMy training is in ecology/systems theory, strengths-based and solution focused therapy, self psychology, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy and addictions models. I believe in the importance of social work values, such as self-determination.

EVALUATION PROCEDURES
Please refer to agency policies and procedures which state that employees receive evaluations at 6 months of employment, one year and annually after that. While you are receiving clinical supervision, you have the right to due process.

CONFIDENTIALITY
It is our joint responsibility to maintain the highest level of confidentiality for clients. They also need to be informed of exceptions to confidentiality, including clients must be informed of supervision before services begin. I will maintain your privacy in supervision as much as possible; however, you should be made aware of the fact that information might be shared with other staff who have some stake in your evaluation.
